Julien Alex portrait

After university studies in geology during which he learned how to read the landscape, its origins and evolution, Julien discovered very early the arctic environment in Spitsbergen, Greenland, Nunavut and Alaska.

He specializes in climatology and polar research, focusing on glacier dynamics, ice-atmosphere interactions, and pollutant transport. He currently divides his time between Alpine summit ascents, paragliding flights or kayaking, and research.
